Zola and the antique
Probat Roaster |
The Midnight Sun draws people from around the world and often binds
them inexplicably to the North. Such was the case for the owner
of the Midnight Sun Coffee Roasters, Zola Doré. The former
Vancouverite brought her skills as a coffee roaster to Yukon's
capital city of Whitehorse and the first roastery in northern
Canada began in a small cafe in 1996. Within a year, the overwhelming
demand for fresh roasted coffee led to the move to the present
Roastery location on 4th & Black.
The Midnight Sun Coffee Roastery is a retail/wholesale outlet for
fresh-roasted coffees as well as a casual, comfortable Espresso
Bar. It's warm colours, high ceilings and local wood & stonework
are complemented with the work of local artists. To complement
our fresh-roasted coffee, we offer freshly baked muffins, croissants
and cookies, as well as exquisite pastries from local Bakeries.
For the seriously hungry, we make breakfast and lunch sandwiches
fresh daily that will appeal to both the traditional as well as
exotic tastes. And don't miss our famous "MoJo Shakin'" Espresso
milkshakes to keep you going through the long summer days!
Customers can also contact friends and family via internet access
while enjoying the freshest coffee along the famous Alaska Highway.
We take as much care in our roasting as we do in our service so
that we can bring you the best coffee experience in the North.
We roast in small batches in a antique Probat Roaster, taking
care to bring out each coffee's individual characteristics. Whether
you're picking up a cup of coffee as you pass through or gradually
savouring the many different coffees of the world, we take care
to provide extremely good coffee, freshly roasted under the magical,
mystical Midnight Sun.
