Storing Coffee
To maintain the fullest flavour, fresh-roasted coffee should be stored in a dry place in an airtight container. If you must store the coffee for longer than a week, keep it in the freezer. Freezing tends to weaken especially the flavour of dark-roasted coffees, so the best flavour option is to buy smaller amounts of fresh roasted coffee more frequently. Taking coffee from the freezer can cause condensation, so the best way is to store what you'll use over the week in an airtight jar on the counter. Never refreeze coffee once it has been thawed. Due to surface area exposed to air, ground coffee will lose it's flavour much faster than whole beans, so to get the most from your coffee, enjoy the ritual of grinding your own every morning. |
